Heatheridge Frequently Asked Questions

Are Residents allowed to keep their own doctor?

Residents may keep their physician if they choose. However, to make life easier for family and Residents, we have a house physician who will make house calls at Heatheridge. It's a great way to lighten the load.

Do you offer meals for special diets?

Please inquire regarding your special dietary needs. We do offer a limited number of special diets at Heatheridge.

What happens if my loved one's needs change and they require more care? Is the transfer to Leisure Village a difficult process?

We take a team approach to meeting the needs of each Resident no matter what level of care is needed. If it is appropriate for a move to Leisure Village, our care team and the Resident's physician will evaluate health concerns and make the transition as smooth as possible. Some additional paper work is be required, but our goal is to walk you through this transitional time.

Do you provide transportation to doctor appointments?

Yes. We provide transportation for scheduled visits to the doctor's office.

What if I have a special need that falls outside of what you normally take care of for me? Is there anyone to help?

Yes. We have a personal Concierge who can help with almost anything. All it takes is a simple phone call to make an appointment. This service is FREE to Residents at The Broadmoor, Heatheridge and Leisure Village.

How often do residents receive a bath?

Cleanliness is very important to Residents and our staff. We provide baths two to three times per week as directed by the physician and assist with personal areas more frequently.

Can I customize additional services that are not part of what you regularly do?

Yes. Please speak to the administrator if you are interested in additional services. We are here to help you.

What about my phone service? Do I have to call the phone company for set-up?

No. We have taken the important step to implement a state of the art communication system at your community. There is no need to set up your own service. Just plug in your phone and you are ready to go. There is no set up charge, and no monthly taxes and other charges on your phone bill. Long distance services are also available with our phone system. In addition, our communication system allows you instant communications with staff members throughout the building. With one simple touch, you are connected to the receptionist, activities director or any other department.

Is there an emergency pendant available that is connected to your communication system?

Yes there is. We offer pendants for each Resident's use in the building for a minimal monthly fee. If a Resident falls in his or her apartment just push the pendant and the emergency call goes to our central phone system for a swift response. We want to make sure Residents are as safe as possible.
