Retirement Living

• Enjoys some sports and leisure activities (walking, bike riding, fishing, church or volunteer work, overnight or extended travel)
• Can prepare own meals when needed, including grocery shopping
• Able to bathe and dress unassisted
• Able to do light housework and laundry
• Struggles with extensive yard work or home maintenance
• Desires companionship and enjoys meeting new friends

Assisted Living

• Enjoys some activities out of the home, but sometimes needs help to travel to activities
• Can prepare snacks and light meals, but may find it difficult to grocery shop alone, or plan and prepare nutritious meals on a daily basis
• May have problems opening medication bottles or other household containers
• May need assistance with bathing or getting dressed
• Sometimes requires home aid medical personnel to monitor medications or health conditions
• Some risk potential for falls
• Would benefit from stimulating social interaction with other seniors

Nursing Home

• Requires 24-hour nursing care
• Usually requires assistance for feeding and bathing
• May require access or the use of 24-hour oxygen
• May require a wheelchair for mobility
• May suffer from Alzheimer's or other memory diseases
